Problem:
IE 6 does not support alpha-transparent-pngs which looks "&%/§$%&" with 
sprites
--> use an png transparency fix

Note:
this one silently introduces a new hook in template.php which has been 
the only way to register the fix without hardcoding
--> approved by Benni!
