I just saw that my DBAL sysext had been updated ;-) Seems that the patch was committed to typo3/sysext/dbal instead of being applied separately to DBAL repository. This is the problem not having a 
svn:externals anymore.

This means that such bug fixes will be overriden when upgrading those externally-handled sysexts (applies to dbal, extbase and fluid currently).
