because of the current (and intensive) discussions about the new
sprites-concept and new iconsets, i have just released an extension on
which a im working since years!
there are many buggy things in those concepts about icon-styles for
TYPO3 around the net...many of them are NOT real icon-redesigns, they
just inherit the old hangovers.
especially the use of famfamfam-icons or other styles will lead into
an design-inconsistency and will not make the backend look better or
even professional.
no question, the silk-style is great, but it is only partly useful for
a new backend-style!
there is no difference between info-icons and buttons, there is no
guideline how and on which positions overlays should be used and there
are incomplete situations regarding the pagetypes!
please take a look at the extension 't3xskin' ...i tried to
documentate this issues as clear as possible in the manual (sorry, i
did not have plenty of time and some parts are still in german).
dear TYPO3-core-developers: take it one step at a time! ...TYPO3 needs
a new concept of how icons should be generated or styled.
the extension has not yet implemented the new sprite-concept, but it
can be tested with TYPO3 v4.3.1, because its based on 't3skin' ...this
release is just a preview, but should give a introduction of how icons
should be used for the sake of editors!
please give it a try before running the path of the never ending story
of icon-concepts!
...the extension was released just in this minute...so it will take a
while until its in the repository:
