Hey Stefan,

nice patch, however, I'm unsure about getting this in 4.3 because of the 
newly introduced function.

Anyways, I'd also appreciate if the function header comment would 
include *why* the string needs to be quoted if there is a comma in the 
string (doesn't seem to make sense for a regular coder... :))
