Hi Franz,

I started to have a look at your patch, but it looks like some rework
love before the review will make the work of reviewing the patch a lot
quicker and more pleasurable (or less annoying).

So if your provide a CGL-cleaned up version of the fix with proper
documentation comments, good speaking variable and function names, a
readable code structure and unit tests, I'll promise to review your patch.
