Hi Steffen,

great idea to introduce email validation. However as the discussion 
shows it's a rather complicated topic. Wouldn't be better to only have 
server side validation instead and having the client side validation 
done by the same php functions as the server side through AJAX?

This would have at least two advantages:

* easy implementation of new validators
* maintainance of one implementation only
