Dan,
I'm attempting to test with your test extension and with another 
extension that uses IRRE (wec_sermons) but I'm not having any luck with 
either.

With the test extension, the record does appear to reload, but the Type 
value reverts to the default each time.

With wec_sermons, I don't see any attempt to reload at all.

Any ideas?
