As you mentioned Floppy is MOST common icon that symbolize saving, I
personally know few older persons who do not use 'save' command - but...
'...and know press floppy'. ;) That's why I suggest do not change this
thing until there's no new common saving icon in GENERAL mind not only
TYPO3...
I've checked M$ Office 2007 - it uses floppy icon
PS CS3 do not use icons at all
Notepad++ uses floppy
...
In general all my M$ Windows software uses floppy icon (if uses icon at all)
Thunderbird uses yellow folder with green arrow, but telling the truth I
would rather use... floppy icon ;)
What is more as far as I remember other popular CMS'es also uses floppy
icon.
In my opinion there's no sense to force changes 'just because'
At the finish I don't know what is better option ?
HDD icon (difficult)
USB - not clear
I suggest to leave it 'as it is' for now.
Best regards
Marcus
