[TYPO3-core] FE User with md5 passwords

Hi there,

I'm not sure, whether this is the right list... I'm facing problems with 
md5 passwords for fe users and T3 4.2.6

I patched my 4.2.1 core according to 
http://www.typo3hannover.de/fileadmin/doku/manual-doc_feuserpasswords.pdf 
which worked for the 4.2.1 core. After updating to 4.2.6 all the patches 
got lost.

Is there really no other way to make Typo3 work with md5 encrypted 
passwords for fe users than applying those patches???
