Hi Bernhard,

no, I don't use Windows (except in VMs), but MacOS and Linux for daily  
work.

Just to state it clearly: I'm NOT against this RFC, I only have objections  
to the current implementation.
IMHO the nicest way would even be to have a checkbox "Show hidden files"  
below the file list.

The major problem I see is that there is no easy way to show the .files,  
e.g. when you want to delete a folder. In *nix you just use "ls -a", when  
you see that you can't use rmdir, because the folder is not empty. But  
what would you do in TYPO3? Call the admin..?

At least he/she should be able to see them (in TYPO3).

What do you think of the suggestion with the additional checkbox? I know,  
we want to get rid of the inline options, but I think it would be the best  
way to have it in context (and not in the user settings).
