One more thing. Michael himself had raised a question about extensions 
compatibility and what could be done about it. His original proposal 
would create an enormous quantity of warnings. So although it is still a 
good idea, we thought it could be something for 4.4 rather.

In the meantime, we settled on adding a script to the upgrade wizard 
which checks some very important extensions (in this case RealURL, but I 
could imagine that other extensions might need updates to work with 4.3 
too) and reports on their compatibility. It would just be a warning, an 
indication to the administrator that he may need to update some 
extensions in their system.

But this will be a separate RFC anyway.
