do you mean one word without spaces? That's a very unrealistic case :)
If i enter normal text and you come to the right limit it breaks to next 
line. Continuing will let the textarea grow when you are in last visible 
line.

But the textarea from tsConfig is a bit special as it have the classes 
fixed-font and enable-tab. The technique behind the scene is that an 
unvisible div is used where the content is copied to calculate the 
height of the textarea.

For normal tsConfig syntax this won't be the case.
