I have no problem with this limitation if it is properly documented :) I am sure people would try to store binary values in a month after release and complain that registry is broken when saving binaries. So it should be documented that binary data is not supported.

I would prefer to have a more universal registry but binary can always be stored as bas64, for example. No problem, as I said :)
