Thanks. Fine. One more request: Could you add the variable "$buttons"
passed to the method when called:

   protected function getDocHeaderButtons($buttons) {

to the $params array. When some user wants to render the buttons again
completly, it would be easier If the have this array available (not only
the finaly processed $markers array) ...

Even without this modification: +1 ... So I would say go on and commit
(with or without the extra parameter - that depends if you think it is
clever to fill this parameter into the passed $params array)
