If you are in the typo3/ directory:

grep SC_OPTIONS * | grep foreach

Could give you a hint which variable names already got used for other
hooks. Probably use a loop-var name used commonly in other places.

Altough CGL wasn't followed all the time, one shouldn't introduce new
violations (wow - violations sounds very harsh)
