Hi,

one additional remark i discussed with Jigal, he said:

Open Office is a registered trade mark of other companies in many 
countries, so better to use OpenOffice.org (that's what OO use in their app)

Extensions od* are OpenDocument. It's supported by OO but may be better 
to use OpenDocument for those.

So if this sounds ok for you i will change the patch using that.
