The @ may stay, but the trigraph makes no sense as gethostbyaddr doesn't
return booleans on errors (at least the docs don't say so).

I have committed the appached patch to trunk, TYPO3_4-2 and TYPO3_4-1.

This is the real fix. There was some other stuff in Steffen's version
which wasn't related to the problem.
