IMO if the patch is ready for commit, it should be committed. Period.

The discussion about new HTTP classes is purely a discussion for now and 
nothing conclusive is in sight, especially since it has now gotten 
bogged down in furious nitpicking (again :-( ).

As far as I'm concerned, go and commit!
