Hi!

Doubts do not produce any working code. If Masi could supply a patch, it would help. Doubts mean that this useful feature is simply not getting in because it is not perfect. Works => not perfect => not getting in => no this feature at all. Is it good? I think it is awful :( The very wanted feature is blocked only because it is not perfect.

Are you sure it will not cause doubts too? And if it is, it means I will loose more time trying to get this useful feature into TYPO3. I am very reluctant to loose more time when working solution already exists.

I did not look at cal. And truly speaking I do not want to look at it. The patch in this thread works as expected, so I am satisfied with it. The perfect is the enemy of the good. If we attempt to hunt a perfect solution, we may end up with nothing at all. We could have a good one, now we are not going to get HTML crop in TYPO3 :(

In any case, when 4.3 is out, I will have my own patch pack for it, which will include this feature. I am really tired of not getting useful features in because something else "may be better" :( No one is going to integrate that better feature. So we miss that and this too. No HTML crop is coming into the official TYPO3 release.
