Thanks for the strings... ;)

On a UTF-8 backend I could not reproduce the error with having the
russian string direct assigned to the <label></label> node and
attionally by using the reference to a locallang.xml file

On a ISO-8859-1 backend I just got "??????" but your patch did not solve
this...

Am I missing something?
