I did not check the patch but the idea is definitely good. Also I
agree with all points made by Ingo. (Masi, sorry, your proposal is
too complicated for this simple enhancement :) ).

I am not sure if we should do compatibility wrap in this case: the
change is visually compatible with previous solution. It is just an
enhancement, which we should encourage :)
