I guess you're right.

But I would prefer to see it part of the DAM base extension. I think 
anyone who installs DAM should expect to see it used in the RTE.

I am also afraid that removing features from core will raise a bunch of 
bugtracker issues. Moving this feature (and the same applies to the 
image dialogue) to the DAM base extension would prevent just problems, 
although an upgrade of DAM would still be required...

I don't think I can fix this for 4.2 beta.
