[TYPO3-core] RFC #6958: t3lib_htmlmail.php cleanup

Commited to trunk (#2892).

FYI: As the patch did not apply anymore, I had to do a checkout of an 
older version and then a migration of this patch and Bug 2797 (return if 
a mail was sent, commited yesterday) for the commit as it was way too 
complicated to merge my changes into the new one. Long story short: 
Everything should work as expected :-).

Attached is the commmited patch.
