I hope to make more test myself for today. But please test it as it is 
the mythical patch long promised by me to make utf8 by default a 
pleasant user experience. Of course high-load utf8 sites will benefit most.

PS: Yes, this should habe been in an alpha, but sorry, I really had not 
time :-(
