Yep Dmitry. I would really love to see a shiny new list module, too. But 
its stuck in the fund raising phase and it will definitely not make it 
to 4.3, even 4.4 is questionable (info from Oliver).

Goal of this patch is to get an immediate solution for 4.3.

BTW: I would be fine with discarding the pagination.directPageLinks 
parameter, that would simplify the patch a bit more.
