Yes, works fine. Make sure that you use project name in the host name. 
I.e. if you had 
"https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/typo3xdev/tx_realurl/trunk", now it 
should be 
"https://typo3xdev.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/typo3xdev/tx_realurl/trunk".

You can switch to new path using this command inside project directory:

svn switch --relocate https://svn.sourceforge.net/ 
https://typo3xdev.svn.sourceforge.net/
