The "Better login" extension you're talking about *is* the newloginbox
written by Kasper (it used to be called "Better login box" in the
beginning) and that one is precisely the one Steffen integrated!

In Steffen's patch his "felogin" extension already does replace the old
login content element and uses the flexform DS feature I introduced last
month. I actually wrote the patch for this very use case!

So come on, replacing that old login content element nobody is using
anymore is more than due!

Taking the login part of the newloginbox extension and refactoring that
into a new extension "felogin" to become a sysext is the clean and IMHO
best way to replace the old login box.
