During the rendering process there will get some .png's written probably.
if png_truecolor isn't set to 1 those will get created as 8-bit indexed
.png's like .gif are. When you set the flag both: Internal and final results
will be truecolor instead (tough you still can set the .reduceColors option)
In one of the patches which I commited to this list I also introduced another new
variable: png_internal or somehow like this. Setting this flag only internally
truecolor .png's would get used as intermediate format. Michael declined this
patch.
PS: I think png_truecolor should get mentioned somewhere in the installation documentation,
but I can't find it currently in the Doc-matrix to find a suitable place.
