Why should this pose a security risk?!

Of course it is just a pretty pretty small improvement, and there is much
other stuff to improve, too.
However, as you can see it is a very small change, but why shouldn't we
still care about it?
Imagine, 100 such small changes will probably result in a speed gain of
100ms...
