[TYPO3-core] PEAR

Hi!

I think that TYPO3 should use existing PEAR libs of good quality. But I don't think that we should add "random" depencies right now.

Moving to PEAR could be done in the refactoring release (4.5). I image this eg for the mail sending part of the mail classes (perhaps even for the mail composing parts as well). But of course we could start with completely new features (eg error handling) with the next release.

And the availabilty problem could be solved in the installer. You have to configure the path to PEAR and if it isn't found you have to downlad a TYPO3 PEAR-package (tgz/zip) and install into to your webserver dirs. Why a special package? So we know what's inside (all the stuff TYPO3 needs, but nothing more).

Masi
