I double that but since it should be imho also supported by <link>-Tag
and you also say it is an RFE I would assume this should go on the
ROADMAP for 5.0 and can't be accomplished in 4.0 anymore.

At least I don't feel like adding any more complexity to the
typolink-function.

Would be great of course if someone would do so.
