Anyways, What happens if I make contributions and have not signed the CLA?
I ask this because I already made 1 (in words: "one") ;) contribution to
extbase. I think this could act as a real world example of some things
which could happen:

This is a bug in the caching framework backported from v5. I made a
patch and submitted it to the T3 bugtracker. Altough there has been a
report by someone else (Vladimir Podkovanov) before:

(Posted on 1th of May 2009)
My bug tracker entry included a patch. I commited the patch to v4 core
on 19th of May 2009. I do not know if this got fixed in v5 core until
know. But I think this should be the case.
So this issue could act as some kind of "test case" for the lawyers. I
did not have signed any CLA, but my contribution got (probably) included
in v5 code ... Ironically I also posted a test case for the above
problem/bug on 19th of May 2009.
So what is if someone finds a bug in v5, posts a bugfix. Are you not
allowed (or willing) to include a bugfix until one signs a CLA?
I think with GPL software it is stated somewhere, that you accept all
your contribution are also licensed under the GPL. So if you submit a
bugfix for some GPL project you accept the GPL silently. This is like if
you drive a car: You accept the road traffic laws (
"the-law-of-the-street" ;) Straßenverkehrsordnung) without having signed
any contract.
Official grant: But hereby i grant you all rights to do with this patch
whatever you want and license it under whatever license you want.
Humorous grant: But hereby i generously(!!) grant you all rights to do
with this patch whatever you want, license it under whatever license you
want or even print it out and decorate your walls with it!
greets,
Bernhard
