I agree that the amount of commands, new terminology etc. is quite  
overwhelming.
On the other hand the features are quite impressive and also  
seductive ...

I just read about the problems using Git on Windows - that's of course  
an issue
not to ignore. However, if we find a nice to use setup for Windows  
which we can
document (or point to some documentation), that would be okay I guess.  
And the
situation will only become better in the future (at least I'd imagine  
that).

Hmm, I don't have that impression but still I'm lacking realworld  
experience.

Anyway, after our Git evaluation we should in any case also take a look
at Mercurial.
