And so what? I don't care if CVS or SVN thinks I should use a LF at teh end 
of the file.

No, I think it's bad and have a habit to remove the LF manually whenever I 
encounter it in PHP files. I consider is at whitespace and I don't want any 
whitespace around <?php ... ?>.
