Right. This was also really annoying. So it's probably a matter of taste
what annoys more ;)

In gmail there is the possibility to select multiple checkboxes at once
and I bet, it wouldn't be that complicated to implement such thing. With
such a thing, checkboxes would be perfect.

Gee, that's good news. But after reading your post I probably consider
trying the checkbox mode. ;)
