Hey everybody,
first off, thanks for starting this discussion! I like it very much that we are having it.
Concerning what has been said, I see currently a few "layers" of Fluid:
- The Core of Fluid, defining the syntax, how to write a ViewHelper. Additionally a set of "core" VHs, like "if" or the "escape*" VHs.
- A second layer, which is a "library" used to reduce duplication between CMS and Flow, where stuff like Form VHs reside
- custom connectors for Flow / CMS with all the specifics.
As far as I understand, that's pretty much in line of what Claus says, but also numerous others in this thread have been suggesting.
Thanks that you put energy into this; I'd like to help out with providing feedback etc if possible. What about creating a slack channel for this refactoring?
Greets, Sebastian
