[TYPO3-mvc] extbase and IRRE symmetric_field

hi list,

does anyone know if extbase(currently on 1.3.4) supports IRRE 
symmetric_field?  It works fine in $TCA in the Backend, but Extbase 
"doesn't look from the other side", means i only get related objects 
where the foreign_field matches the current object.
