[TYPO3-mvc] How to properly delete a local file?

i don´t think.
Why do you need always a layer for a simple task.
But if you like to dig deeper into file handling and useful wrapper 
methods within TYPO3, have a look at the class t3lib_basicFileFunctions.

If you are in a hurry give unlink a try.
