[TYPO3-mvc] link viewHelper - a FE link created from BE?

Trying to keep up with a question each day ;-)

I need to create a link to the FE (creating a email template). But the 
link is generated while in BE mode.
So the outcome seems that it always points to something like:
"mod.php?M=module_ExtensionnamespaceModulenamespace"

What would the preferred way to do this?
Create a custom viewhelper?
