[TYPO3-mvc] How to connect to another DB or a webservice

Hello,

in the book of Sebastian and Jochen I always read that the Query-Object 
don't knows something about SQL. So you can use it for a webservice or 
saving data within a textfile.

Further there is a chapter called "using foreign datasources". Again you 
can read something about webservices configurable within

plugin.[extensionname].>persistence.classes.xxx

But I have never seen such an example. Maybe you have one...
