[TYPO3-mvc] FLUIDTEMPLATE - difference between f:cObject and f:format

I'd think this line:

$content = $this->contentObject->parseFunc($value, array(), '< ' . 
$parseFuncTSPath);

from the HTMLViewHelper could!() be responsible.

How  to Test:
<f:format.html parseFuncTSPath="lib.skipParseFuncByProvidingInvalidPath">
OR
comment the line mentioned above in 
Tx_Fluid_ViewHelpers_Format_HtmlViewHelper

Does that make any difference?
