[TYPO3-mvc] Example "inventory" from "Zukunftssichere TYPO3-Extensions mit Extbase und Fluid" working on TYPO3 4.5?

Hi,

I am digging into extbase and fluid by bravely reading the book written 
by Jochen and Sebastian as well as programming the example extension.

When it comes to installing the minimal extension code (ext_tables.php, 
ext_tables.sql, ext_emconf.php and Product.php) of Ext inventory as 
mentioned in the book EM does not show the created extension at all. It 
is located in typo3conf/inventory and the access rights for the web 
server are correct. Other extensions have the same user and rights 
settings and work flawlessly.

I searched my code for typos and possible errors the whole night but did 
not get it to work.

My question therefor is: Do I have to modify the inventory extension in 
the book? Did the prerequisites of using extbase based extensions in 
TYPO3 change since the publication of the book? Am I just too stupid?

Any hint appreciated!
