If you're on Windows, I've got another one for you: Thunderbird Portable 
[1]. You can start it directly from a usb stick on any Windows client 
without installing it. Even at home I'm using TB from usb stick, so when 
I'm on the move I don't have to check which messages I already read etc. 
as I'm always using the same program :). The only downside is that it's 
slower from usb drive (slower read/write access).
