Sounds like a bit of a performance problem, but I like the idea ;-)
You could even use Fluid to produce the first XML template.
(just kidding along)

The extension includes an example Controller/View, so you can just include the static template and put the plugin on a page to test.

There is room for improvement, but it works for now.

You also need a patch for Fluid, see http://forge.typo3.org/issues/show/7608
