Yes, I know your approach and I was active in this discussion as well 
because I needed a solution.
Your "preset"-way is very nice - but has even to do with the 
switchableControllerActions. I do not want to modify the 
switchableControllerActions and/or the logic behind it I just wanted to 
change the initial Controller and Action.

Masi described the problem in the old discussion from january very 
precisely:

This is exactly what my patch does via flexform. Nothing more :)
Your whish to have more flexible swichableControllerActions via presets 
is simply another building site.
