Don't get me wron. But please double check if you included the static template from the BlogExample and it affects the page of your plugin. You can do that via Web>Template>TypoScript Object Brwoser. The persistence settings must be available under plugin-tx_blogexample.persistence.classes.Tx_BlogExample_Domain_Model_Administrator.
