[TYPO3-mvc] How to return a filtered subset of child objects?

well, I did sort of, but not the extbase way because I have to deal with 
multiple joins and make use of a ref-table and some other specialties. 
So for now I used at least for my products repository regular TYPO3 
queries and have those then mapped to objects. Quick and dirty - I know 
- but "quick" was what counted for me here. I'll probably port it to a 
real extbase solution if there's time left.
