[TYPO3-mvc] Actual state of extbase support for backend modules

Hello everybody,

can someone giprovide information about the actual support from  
extbase/fluid for backend modules?
Trying to find some examples is a little hard at the moment.

Perhaps someone can give me a short overview of what is working  
already and what is planned for the near future.
