[TYPO3-shop] no notification email

I'm revisiting this problem again, but this time I have tt_products 4.7.2 and TYPO3 4.5.8 and can't downgrade to 4.4.x.

So the version 2.7.2 doesn't work either. 

If I 
- disallow the html mail in tt_products ts template 
- and set in localconf $TYPO3_CONF_VARS['MAIL']['substituteOldMailAPI'] = '1';

then I get the email to admin address but it's completely empty, also the email subject is empty.

I guess it has something to do with utf-8 (http://forge.typo3.org/issues/25062).

Now should I downgrade tt_products to 2.6.7?
