[TYPO3-shop] Aritcles and item numbers

Hi group
I am not sure if my shop works correct.

I have different articles in different colors. When I choose a different 
color, I would expect the item number to change as well (along with the text 
and other changes). But it dosn't happen. What am I doing wrong?

Any suggestions?
